What the adviser sees
The student list shows year level, status, last activity, whether the quiz is done, how many simulations are complete and each student's top career category. Opening a student shows their quiz result, simulation attempts with feedback, and the degrees they have shown interest in.

A Year 9 or Year 10 careers program over one term
One way a school could use PathIQ. It is an illustration, not a promise of results, and schools can change the sequence.
- Week 1Students take the career quiz in a careers class and see their suggested career categories.
- Weeks 2 to 5Each student chooses one or two simulations to try, in class or as homework.
- Week 6The adviser opens the dashboard to see who has finished, which categories came up and how the simulations went.

Fitting into your timetable and careers classes
- Students complete the quiz and simulations on their own in a web browser, so the school can run them in a careers class or set them as homework.
- Advisers read the dashboard when it suits them. It does not need a timetabled session.
- Simulations can sit next to an existing careers program, such as subject selection, work experience preparation or pathway planning.
- Calls in a simulation can be spoken or typed, so a class does not need headsets.

PathIQ is not tied to one state. Students in Victoria may be choosing between VCE, the VCE Vocational Major and the Victorian Pathways Certificate. Students in other states and territories choose between their own senior certificates. In every case the question is the same: what does this career involve, and which route leads there?

Alongside what you already use
Simulations come first. The career quiz gives students a starting point and suggests simulations to try. Schools can use PathIQ next to their existing careers tools, interviews, events and programs.

Annual subscription by participating students
School subscriptions are annual. The price depends on how many students participate. Each tier includes a set number of simulations, which is separate from the number of participating students.

How the subscription works
- Access runs for 12 months from the agreed activation date. Schools can pay annually, quarterly or monthly, and instalments do not change the 12-month commitment.
- Included credits are shared across participating students. They do not reset each month or school term.
- Unused credits expire at renewal and do not roll into the next contract year.
- A completed simulation uses one credit. Confirmed PathIQ technical failures or duplicate runs can be reviewed and credited back.
- Additional usage is itemised monthly, and no extra usage is charged without an authorised approval.
Running low on credits
PathIQ will notify the school at 75%, 90% and 100% of included credit usage. Once credits are used, new simulations pause unless an authorised school contact approves additional usage. Additional simulations are $5 each, or schools can purchase a 100-simulation top-up for $500.
Questions schools ask
PathIQ is designed to make implementation as straightforward as possible. We work with each school to get students set up and ready to explore career pathways through interactive simulations. Setup time depends on the school's requirements and implementation needs.
Students join through an email invitation from their school and sign in to their own PathIQ account. PathIQ can also work with schools to achieve Single Sign-On (SSO), so students can use their existing school login and need fewer usernames and passwords.
PathIQ is accessible online, so students can explore career pathways and complete interactive simulations on compatible devices with an internet connection.
Yes. Every call in a simulation can be typed instead of spoken, and talking is always optional. If a student's browser has no microphone or blocks it, the simulation switches to typing.
School administrator accounts can open a student list showing each student's year level, status, last activity, whether they have completed the quiz, how many simulations they have completed and their top career category.
Opening a student shows their quiz result, their simulation attempts with scores and AI feedback, and the degrees they have shown interest in.
Student data is stored in a database in Sydney and application processing runs in Melbourne. Data is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher and at rest with AES-256. Multi-factor authentication is available to all accounts, and customer organisations choose whether it is mandatory for their users.
Some AI providers process data outside Australia, which is set out in the privacy policy. Read the security policy and the incident response policy for the full detail.
PathIQ uses xAI and Anthropic as its AI providers. Live AI calls run as a voice-to-voice conversation with an xAI model, and written simulation responses are evaluated by Anthropic's Claude.
PathIQ has switched on xAI's Zero Data Retention setting, so xAI does not store the requests, responses or voice conversations from these calls. PathIQ does not send names, emails or user IDs to either provider, and it keeps the text of a call, not the recording. The privacy policy covers this in full.
Choose a $500 top-up for 100 simulations, or approve additional usage at $5 per simulation. Additional usage is itemised monthly, and no extra usage is charged without an authorised approval.
Simulations completed during holidays use the same credit pool and are charged under the same rules.
A new 12-month term starts with the credits included in the renewed plan. Credits from the previous year do not roll over, so we recommend reviewing usage before renewal.
We work with schools to make getting started as easy as possible, providing onboarding guidance and support throughout implementation. Our goal is to help schools integrate PathIQ into their career education programs and ensure students get the most out of the platform.
If the cohort moves into a higher pricing band during the year, PathIQ will discuss a pro-rated plan adjustment before making the change.
